Aarushi’s First Month at Tug

One Month ago, I could not even imagine to be living this life and working in the city of my dreams. My name is Aarushi, and I’m a Biddable Account Executive here at Tug, where my days are filled with delving into PPC and paid search strategies. It’s hard to believe that over a month has passed since I joined this dynamic team, and I can confidently say that each day has been a lesson in growth and collaboration.

My journey into the world of marketing was perhaps an unconventional one. In 2019, fuelled by a desire to share positivity and mindfulness with the world, I launched my own business selling gratitude journals through Instagram and Facebook. Little did I know that this venture would kickstart a deep-seated passion for marketing. It was this newfound passion that led me to pursue a master’s in marketing, with a desire to understand marketing through the global lens. I also wanted to dive deeper into the paid side of media, with the hopes of eventually experiencing this first-hand in an agency. Fast forward to the present and here I am at Tug!

From early on, it became clear that I’d found an inclusive and supportive environment, where I could not only learn and grow, but also thrive.

Coming from a background with a strong analytical mindset, I wanted to immerse myself in data analysis and reporting, and Tug offered the perfect platform to do just that. On top of this, the agency has also given me the opportunity to work across a diverse range of industries, allowing me to broaden my horizons and gain invaluable insights into various market landscapes.

From the moment I stepped into the Tug office, I was greeted with a work culture unlike any other. It’s an environment that’s not just about meeting deadlines and delivering results; it’s about fostering genuine connections and creating a sense of belonging. One of the most striking aspects of Tug’s culture is its people-oriented approach. Every Thursday, the entire team comes together for different activities, whether it’s team-building exercises or simply unwinding with Thursday drinks. These moments not only foster trust but also remind us of the importance of having fun amidst our busy schedules.

Another aspect of Tug that immediately stood out to me was its commitment to flexibility. The option to work two days a week from home and spend the remaining three days in the office provides a perfect balance between autonomy and collaboration. And in times when circumstances require us to work remotely, Tug’s seamless transition to a remote setup ensures that productivity and connectivity remain unaffected.

Moreover, the agency’s flat hierarchy encourages open communication and collaboration across teams. Whether it’s discussing strategies with high-level managers or brainstorming ideas with colleagues from different departments, the accessibility to key agency figures fosters a culture of transparency and innovation.

The first few weeks at Tug have been interesting and enjoyable in equal measure. Each day brought new challenges and opportunities for growth, from mastering various software tools to conducting in-depth analyses for our clients, every task presented a chance to expand my skillset and deepen my understanding of the digital marketing landscape.

What truly sets Tug apart is its remarkable team dynamics. I was welcomed with open arms by a group of individuals who not only excel in their respective roles but also embody a spirit of support. The level of communication within the team is unparalleled, creating an environment where everyone feels empowered to share ideas, ask questions, and lend a helping hand whenever needed. One of the highlights of my onboarding experience was the pod lunch organised to welcome me to the team. Gathering around a table with my colleagues, sharing stories and laughter over a delicious meal, I felt an instant sense of belonging.

As I continue to settle into my role, whether it’s the chance to navigate client meetings from the comfort of my home, or juggle multiple tasks in the bustling environment of the office, each day brings its own set of challenges and rewards. And when the workweek draws to a close, there’s nothing quite like unwinding with my colleagues during our Thursday evening gatherings. It’s the perfect blend of professional and social interaction.

From the invaluable lessons learned to the meaningful connections forged, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a dynamic and supportive team. As I look forward to the journey ahead, I am excited to continue growing, learning, and thriving in this vibrant community.
