What It Feels Like to Work in SEO…

by Alyssa James | 20.12.2013
I recently started on the SEO team here at Tug. Half my time is dedicated to content creation for the team’s outreach. The other half I spend actually doing the outreach myself. It’s taken some getting used to, but here’s some of what I’ve learned about in my first month…

Your first live link of the day feels like…

krump

When you hit your link target for the month, you’re like…

high five

You get home at the end of the day, your friend tries to show you something on the internet and you’re like,

smash

When you tell someone a site you do SEO for and they’re like ‘Never heard of it’, you think

no meaning

You try to explain what you do to your family and they’re like…

thumbs up

You try to explain what you do to your friends and they’re like…

great story

So they start talking about what their jobs and you’re like…

nothomg

You hear someone say “Content is King” and you think…

false

When you got in touch with a blogger first but your colleague gets the link…

mine

‘It’s a team effort’

But it doesn’t matter because even though you spend most of the day doing this…
