Local ads on the Google Map App
by James Jarrett | 09.08.2013
Yesterday Google introduced a couple of new features to the newest version of the Google Maps App.
- Relevant ads can now appear at the bottom of the screen when a user performs a search
- The ad will contain a title, ad text and link to get directions
- There’s a new click type by tapping or swiping to see more info “Get location details”
- Additional info can include a business’s: address, phone number, photos, reviews and more
Adwords can charge for up to 2 clicks per impression: for the initial swipe to ‘get location details’ and then for click-to-call/to get directions/click on the headline.
Free actions include the user: saving info, sharing with a friend, or starting navigation.
