The Rise of the Chinese Search Engine Giant Baidu! The Fall for Supply of SEO Professionals.
Baidu, China’s equivalent search engine giant of Google. Launched in 2010 and is the most used search engine in China. Dominating over 75% of market share, China has not only been digging well for Gold in the Olympics, but has also seen an increase in trend for digital marketing opportunities.
The rise of Internet Marketing in China has seen explosive surge in growth with ‘much demand and insufficient supply’ of talent to meet market needs. In support for demand, Baidu will roll out a “talent scout project” to Chinese Universities, professional educational institutions and enterprises.
The Baidu certification program is now open to the public and is a full search engine marketing professional certification, which has already equipped 3,000+ professionals over the past year. The training consists on a range of marketing aspects, but mainly focusing on ‘search engine optimisation‘ and ‘search engine marketing’, introducing opportunity and transformation for the whole of China’s marketing industry.
According to a recent report released by Baidu and 51job.com, shows statistics that in the near 5-6 year’s China will see 30% growth in demand for the internet marketing industry. China’s demand for Internet Marketing Professionals is about 1.1 million plus, but the downside is that 650,000+ positions will not be fulfilled in these roles this year.
