Partnering with digital agency Tug the campaign doubled the target petition signatures and raised WWF’s profile as a global policy campaigner.

Worldwide environmental charity World Wildlife Fund (WWF) understood that the destruction of the natural environment led to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak – and is increasing the likelihood of similar pandemics happening in future – but the general public were largely unaware of this. WWF wanted to raise awareness of its message that protecting habitats and animals alleviates the risk of animal to human infections. In September 2020 WWF approached London-based digital agency Tug to help create, launch and run a social media campaign to raise awareness of the link between pandemics and habitat destruction.
