Google Turns up the heat in the Music Industry

Seems everyone wants to get into the music game… I thought there was no money it? Well the truth is there isn’t much but consumers want free music so everyone from Apple, to Spotify, to Boinc, to Facebook and now Google are coming up with models. Essentially with music downloads coming from the cloud the argument is that you can lock in a consumer on a particular platform or device by giving them free/cheap tracks. When they’ve organised their perfect music library you have them trapped for life and can sell them other consumables and services. Well that’s the theory anyway – let the battles continue!
