Latin America is Google’s fastest growing market

An interesting article from The Globe and Mail. In terms of revenue, Brazil is quickly becoming Google’s sixth biggest market. Partly due to the country coming out of the recession and partly due to increased availablity of broadband amongst Brazil’s burgeoning middle class. Another interesting point is that while Google has fallen behind in the rest of the world with Social Networking, Orkut continues to have a large market share in Latin America. Our newest recruit – Rachel Coate – is actually in Salvador right now – ostensibly to visit carnival, but surely she’s researching the market’s potential for Tug’s Latin American growth…
