Diageo Gearing up for a bumper Christmas with big Advertising push

Diageo is claiming a £40 Million sales opportunity this Christmas. Well that’s cheery isn’t it? We are seeing the drinks industry moving more and more effectively into the online space – lets hope 20% of that budget goes to online. It is good to see that one of their brands Smirnoff is investing in Social Media. But is the right proportion of this huge advertising budget going to the online space? Late to enter the space, other drinks companies are looking to make a splash this quarter and into 2011.
