Google Enters OS Battles

As speculated by many after the release of Google Chrome, Google have announced their move into the world of operating systems. Google’s new operating system will be called the Chrome OS and will be made to start with, focusing on netbooks. Like Google’s Chrome Web Browser, the OS will share its simple ideas; which will help improve the speed of the OS. The OS will also be both Free and Open Source, allowing for a wide base of users. You can also expect Google to integrate their services into the OS such as Google Mail and Google Calender (similar to that which features on Google Android.) We designed Google Chrome for people who live on the web — searching for information, checking email, catching up on the news, shopping or just staying in touch with friends. So today, we’re announcing a new project that’s a natural extension of Google Chrome — the Google Chrome Operating System. It’s our attempt to re-think what operating systems should be….”
