Business Development Executive

About the role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic appointment setter who is excited by the prospect of generating new leads, through a combination of tactics using email, phone and LinkedIn. Creative and strategic thinking is essential for outreach to new potential leads in order to make them stop and listen.

The role requires excellent time management, impeccable communication skills and a real drive to succeed so we need someone who is self-motivated and able to work to strict targets/deadlines, both individually and as part of bigger projects.

Our Dream Candidate:

  • Organised, with a daily task list: checking CRM tasks, sending out emails, managing data, and conducting calls
  • Knows how to qualify prospects
  • Listens and builds rapport with prospects
  • Handles sales objections and rejections, using them to adapt approach moving forwards
  • Reminds and follows-ups consistently
  • Self-motivated and tenacious
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint


  • Researching potential new leads
  • Contacting prospective clients through a variety of mediums – LinkedIn, email, phone, event networking
  • Setting an agreed number of appointments per month for the sales team to sit
  • Keeping on top of developments in the industry
  • Keeping on top of administrative tasks – updating CRM, reporting on success of outreach campaigns
  • Helping to run internal events such as Breakfast Thought-Leadership sessions where we invite prospects to hear talks from our staff, clients and contacts on relevant issues
  • Representing Tug at industry events; networking, promoting the brand and meeting attendees to grow leads
