Social almost as big as Search for Spanish users

We’ve been pitching a large Spanish sports and leisure client. They have a real interest and emphasis on Social Media – this must be why:

A comScore report has revealed the top web properties in Spain, of which the top three were portals (99.5% reach), search engines (92.1%) and social networking sites (90.1%).

Facebook has exhibited the strongest growth out of the top ten Spanish web properties, with a 49% growth since Sept 2009.

Social media is at the forefront of Spanish internet growth and an increasingly engaged audience. Sites like Tuenti and Facebook are an important part of Spanish internet users lives, opening up opportunities for marketers and advertisers. (comScore, October 2010)
